MANCHESTER CITY have quite a catch in midfielder Phil Foden.

The 18-year-old proved he's not just a talent on the pitch, he is also handy with a fishing rod.

Foden took to Instagram to show off pictures of his fishing trip in Spain where he landed a huge catfish.

The City ace soaked up the sun before the gruelling pre-season kicks-off and relaxed on the Rio Ebro Chiprana.

And if his career at the Premier League champions is anything like the success he had on the water, he is set for massive success in the game.

Foden showed off five pictures to his followers where he struggled to hold the array of catfish and carp he landed.

Alongside the images he wrote the caption: "Enjoying my time at fishing."

Any clubs hoping to land the England talent on loan for the new season will need to look elsewhere.

Leeds were interested in signing Foden under new boss Marcelo Bielsa.

But Pep Guardiola is adamant his development is better suited by training with the first-team with plans to hand him more opportunities next season.

The Stockport-born star is expected to sign a new long-term contract before the start of the season with the club determined to avoid a similar situation to fellow academy player Jadon Sancho, who moved to Borussia Dortmund last summer.

Foden came to prominence in 2017 after being named the best player at the tournament as England won the Fifa Under-17 World Cup.

Last season he became the youngest ever Premier League winner after making five appearances for City in their title-clinching campaign.
