Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini signed a new two-year deal with the club on Friday.
The 30-year-old, part of Belgium's squad at the Workd Cup finals, had looked set to leave the club when his existing deal expired at the end of June.
"I made this decision because I am very happy here," Fellaini said.
"I feel like this team, under Jose (Mourinho) still has a lot we want to achieve. I would like to say a special thank you to Jose for the faith he has always shown in me."
United finished second in the Premier League last season but 19 points behind local rivals and winners Manchester City.
