As per a report from Italian journalist Pagine Romaniste this evening, Chelsea have made an opening offer for in-demand AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson.
World-class shot-stopper
Alisson, full name Alisson Becker, is a 25-year-old Brazilian international, and has emerged as one of the most impressive goalkeepers in world football since taking over as Roma's no.1 this past season, following the end of Wojciech Szczęsny's loan with the club.
The former Internacional star has already earned 25 international caps, and is currently viewed as the Selecao's first-choice between the posts, ahead of Manchester City's Ederson.
Anfield links
Alisson's stellar form over the last 9 months has seen the South American linked with a whole host of top European clubs, with English giants Liverpool long named as the side expressing the most genuine interest in his services.
The Reds are known to have been keeping an eye out for reinforcements in the goalkeeping department for some time now, with the costly performance of Loris Karius in the Champions League final having since seen links between Liverpool and Alisson intensify (though an explanation has this evening emerged for Karius' nightmare in Kiev).

Blues' bid
But, as per the aforementioned report from Pagine Romaniste this evening, it is neither Liverpool or Alisson's other main suitors to this point, Real Madrid, who have lodged an opening offer for the Brazilian, but rather London giants Chelsea.
Reports have been mounting over the last week that current Blues' first-choice Thibaut Courtois is ready to depart the club, with Chelsea having seemingly added Alisson to their transfer wishlist as a result.
And Romaniste claims that the Stamford Bridge outfit have tonight submitted a bid of 60 million Euro to Roma.
However, the offer is widely expected to be rejected, with the Giallorossi said to be holding out for at least 80 million Euro.
