NEYMAR has confirmed for the first time that he and Paris Saint-Germain strike-partner Edinson Cavani DID fall out earlier in the season.

However, he added that they soon settled their differences.

On-pitch clashes over who should take penalties in the early part of the season led to strong suggestions the pair didn't get on.

And, despite various denials, Neymar has now told Globo TV: "People make a bigger thing of what happened.

"Of course, there was a certain tension, a friction with Cavani, but we sorted it quickly — three days after it happened.

"We are two big players, but we are also people and we had to sort this out personally, without telling anyone. But the reports were exaggerated."

Neymar joined PSG in the summer from Barcelona for a world record £198million but has not played since suffering a broken metatarsal on February 25.

In that time, he missed his side's Champions League exit at the hands of Real Madrid, as well as their Coupe de Ligue final victory over Monaco.

Though, he has managed to find the back of the net an impressive 28 times in 30 matches this season.

PSG could clinch the Ligue 1 title tonight, if they beat the Principality side at the Parc des Princes.
