Tyrone Williams’ strike midway through the first half helped Solihull beat Maidstone 1-0 to ease their relegation fears.
The win helped Solihull climb to 18th in the table and kept their opponents close to the bottom four.
The game’s first chance fell to Maidstone’s Reece Prestedge, whose shot was blocked by Solihull keeper Max O’Leary.
Williams broke the deadlock in the 25th minute to give Solihull the lead. Jamie Osborne combined well with Darren Carter before Williams poked the ball home for his first goal for Solihull.
Solihull missed further chances to extend their lead before the interval when Adi Yussuf’s shot found the side netting and Kwame Thomas’ effort was saved by Lee Worgan.
Jermaine Hylton hit the bar for Solihull three minutes into the second half after trying to chip Worgan in the Maidstone goal.
