The Blues are set to part company with Antonio Conte this summer and it was expected that they would appoint former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique.

Enrique who is also a target for Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal is refusing to be rushed into making a decision and Roman Abramovich is now looking elsewhere.

Juventus are top of Serie A and are heading for a record seventh Scudetto but the trophy they most covert Champions League looks like eluding them.

Allegri who was a target for Arsenal last season had recently admitted that he wants his next job to be in the Premier League.

Zidane looks set to leave Real Madrid and would jump at the chance of an immediate return to one of his former clubs.

And that would pave the way to London for Allegri.

Chelsea boss Conte has cut a frustrated figure at Stamford Bridge all season, complaining about the club’s spending power and attitude to defending the title.

As speculation continues to rage over his future Conte told of the hurt and anger he and his players feel, despite still being on course to win the FA Cup.

And he revealed how he has been haunted by sleepless nights as a result.

Conte said: "It’s a mix. When I was a player, after a defeat, I was very angry and the players will have the same feeling as myself.

"It has been really difficult to sleep. It was was very difficult for me when I was a player. It’s very difficult now as a manager.

"It’s always the same, you feel something wrong with yourself - that you are not a winner. You are a loser!"

Then, after vowing to focus on the remainder of the season Conte added: "Then will be right moment to speak about the future and to make a plan."
