Emmanuel Frimpong Explains His Undying Hatred For Samir Nasri

Emmanuel Frimpong has opened up on why he hates Samir Nasri so much.

The 26-year old, now playing for Ermis Aradippou in Cyprus, came through the ranks at Arsenal and went on to play a total of 16 games for the club.

He didn't achieve much at the Gunners in all truth, his main highlight being when he had major beef with Nasri during a League Cup tie between Arsenal and City at the Emirates.

It got very heated between the two throughout the game and the pair were seen exchanging words at the end of the game.

At the time, it appeared as though Frimpong was trying to score some points with Arsenal fans in winding up Nasri, who is of course hated by Gooners for the manner in which he left.

But he's revealed that his hate for Nasri stems from how the Frenchman treated him when he was sent off against Liverpool many moons ago.

Recalling his dismissal in the 2-0 defeat in 2011 in a detailed interview with The Telegraph.

"When the game ended, we were in the dressing room and I expected Wenger to be really angry.

"He was actually very calm, but for some reason Nasri came in and he was like: 'We lost the game because of you'.

"I was a young guy, didn't really know what I was doing, and was devastated. I felt like I'd let everybody down and he was really blaming me, so I really didn't like him.

"He always had a go at me if I gave the ball away in training and even said to me once: 'I could buy you if I want'. To be honest, he probably could have done at the time, but still."

Frimpong then continued ripping into the two-time Premier League winner and says he could never respect him.

"People never really understand why that [clash] happened but I don't like the guy," he added.

"The reason I don't like him is because he's an idiot. Plain and simple. I would never, ever have respect for him."

It's easy to see why Frimpong developed such a disdain for Nasri - and why he got so riled up when he came up against him for the first time.

Nasri, not for the first time, doesn't come across as a likeable chap...
