Simon Grayson encourages attitude shift from his Bradford players

Deflated Bradford boss Simon Grayson has urged his side to be more positive after their 2-0 defeat to Blackburn .

Bradley Dack celebrated his 200th league appearance by sending Rovers to the top of League One.

Craig Conway grabbed the second as Tony Mowbray’s Rovers dominated at Ewood Park.

Blackburn are now unbeaten in 17 games at home, but Grayson was disappointed his side failed to stamp their authority on the game until it was too late.

He said: “I’m a positive manager who wants his side to be hard to beat out of possession, but when you have it go and express it.

“You want your attacking players to get on the ball, take people on and get crosses in the box.

“All the supporters want to see that but the players aren’t doing it enough.

“There’s an air of acceptance that they’ll take the safe option, we accepted when we were 1-0 down that we were done, game finished.

“We only came into the game in the last 10 minutes when we were 2-0 down and there was nothing to lose.

“That comes from the players not being positive in their approach and that’s what we keep trying to address to them.

“There’s a lot of disappointment. We probably got out of the game what we deserved – nothing.

“Blackburn were very good from the first whistle, we rode our luck but when you get to half-time 0-0 you have an opportunity and we didn’t take it.”

Marcus Antonsson missed a great chance early on when he glanced Richie Smallwood’s dangerous free-kick wide.

On 22 minutes the visitors were indebted to the woodwork twice as Blackburn threatened.

First Antonsson fired against the post before Dack’s deflected cross came back off the bar.

In the 68th minute Dack latched onto Corry Evans’ pin-point ball before comfortably beating Doyle one-on-one.

With 10 minutes left substitute Conway slotted home after Dack’s initial shot fell into his path.

Beaming Blackburn boss Mowbray said: “Every credit to the boys tonight, they were fantastic.

“I can’t praise them enough. They went out there and got the job done.

“We want to get promoted, that’s no secret and we’ll continue to fight in every game to get there.

“We’re back top but we know we can’t rest on our laurels.

“What we don’t want to do is take our foot off the gas and end up being in the play-offs.

“It’s going to be a tough battle against two very strong sides in Wigan and Shrewsbury.

“We’ve just got to focus on ourselves and take every game as it comes.”
