Aaron Doran strike gives Inverness win over Dundee United

Aaron Doran’s first-half effort proved enough as Inverness claimed a narrow 1-0 Scottish Championship victory over Dundee United at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium.
The home side created the better first-half chances and Doran broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time as he picked out the bottom corner for his fourth goal of the season after being played in by George Oakley.
Nathan Austin came close to doubling Caley’s lead four minutes after the break but fired the ball just wide, before Daniel Mackay and Charlie Trafford had chances saved and Iain Vigurs sent an effort wide.
Matthew Smith and Emil Lyng both missed the target at the other end as Dundee United searched for a late point but the hosts held on.
