Real Madrid's LaLiga blackhole

The figures do not lie and give a good explanation for why Real Madrid are out of the championship race with Barcelona 15 points clear of them and the fact is that they have conceded 33 goals in 29 games.

The latest three came against Girona at the Bernabeu and from headers at deadball situations which has been a major problem. In fact no other team in LaLiga has conceded three headed goals this season and the last time was Cordoba when they were beaten 8-0 by Barcelona three years ago.

Meanwhile, Barcelona have the Zamora, the goalkeeper that has conceded fewest goals in Ter Stegen. He has let in 13, one fewer than Oblak at Atletico Madrid.

Real have let in 15 goals from right foot shots, 7 from the left foot, tenheaders and an own goal. Of the 33 goals, ten have come from deadball situations. Zidane's side have only eight clean sheets compared to 18 by Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

Of the Real defenders, Nacho has done best statistically having played six games where they have not concede a goal, compared to five by Marcelo and Varane. Carvajal has played four games where no goal was scored and Sergio Ramos has played three.
