Sheffield Wed. vs Bolton Wanderers - Pudil, Venancio and Sean Clare boost Wednesday
Posted Friday, March 09, 2018 by PA
Sheffield Wednesday boss Jos Luhukay has declared Daniel Pudil, Frederico Venancio and Sean Clare all fit enough to feature against Bolton.
Pudil (ankle) and Venancio (knock) were unused substitutes in the loss to Ipswich on Tuesday night while Clare (ankle) missed the squad entirely.
Though Barry Bannan (hip) is close to a comeback having returned to training, Marco Matias’ recovery from a knee injury is taking longer than expected.
Wednesday’s lengthy injury list also includes Kieran Lee (hip), Joost van Aken (hamstring), Sam Hutchinson (hernia), Keiren Westwood (groin) and Fernando Forestieri (knee).
Bolton boss Phil Parkinson must determine whether David Wheater and Josh Vela should return to his squad.
Both had started the 3-1 loss to Preston but were omitted from the 18-man squad entirely as Parkinson made bold selection decisions in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Reading.
Sammy Ameobi will be checked on having missed out against the Royals with a back problem.
Mark Little is available again following suspension and will be hoping for a recall after he too was left out in midweek.
