Claudio Pizarro and Mario Gomez scored in the same Bundesliga match and we’re not sure what year it is

Pizarro's strike means he's notched a Bundesliga goal in each of the last 20 years

Hearing that Claudio Pizarro and Mario Gomez have both scored in the same Bundesliga match has left us a little confused.

I mean, have we somehow time travelled back to 2010? Because we're having a serious Bundesliga nostalgia trip right now.

The veteran duo his the back of the net as Koln took on Stuttgart this afternoon.

Pizarro, who hit the opener for Koln, is the most impressive of the pair. At 39, the Peruvian is still turning out in the top-flight of German football, having joined the league's basement club back in September after leaving Werder Bremen when his contract expired in the summer.

But you know what's even more impressive? His goal this afternoon – his first for Koln – means he's netted a goal in the Bundesliga in each of the last 20 years.

Dating back to his very first stint with Bremen back in 1999, Pizarro has scored every year since during two spells at Bayern Munich and three at Bremen.

Even his year at Chelsea didn't interrupt the tally, as he still notched goals in 2007 and 2008.

Seriously brilliant stuff.

But Mario Gomez was determined to steal the headlines away from his former Munich teammate, netting twice just before half-time to put Stuttgart ahead and eventually secure a 3-2 win.

Scoring goals like it's 2009 or something. Lovely stuff.

Just doing what he does
