Dembele visits Morocco and France on days off

After completing a full 90 minutes in Barcelona's 6-1 home win at the weekend against Girona, Ousmane Dembele made the most of the extra day off that coach Ernesto Valverde gave his players following their victory.

The player travelled to Marrakech and France for personal reasons and the former Borussia Dortmund attacker will have returned to training tomorrow with 4,355 kilometres of travel behind him in just two days.

This comes before what is an important week for the Catalan club.

After participating in the recovery session on Sunday, Dembele flew to Marrakech, where he took the opportunity to socialise and enjoy the Moroccan city.

He stayed at the Al Saadi Hotel, ate at the L'Epicurien restaurant and then, in the evening, he attended one of the city's hot spots, The Theatre nightclub, accompanied by three friends.

Without drinking any alcohol, at around 02:00 in the morning the youngster and his entourage left the premises.

This was followed by the player leaving for Paris on Monday.

He is expected to return to training in Barcelona on Tuesday, ahead of their game on Thursday away at Las Palmas.

The club has downplayed his big trip and supported his travels.

"You can do what you consider appropriate in your free time," stated a spokesperson for the club.

The game in Gran Canaria involves the team's longest domestic trip of the season, equating to 4,350 kilometres, so Dembele will arrive at the game on Sunday against Atletico with almost 9,000 kilometres behind him.
