Jurgen Klopp has had difficulties in goal for some time and is looking for an upgrade.

Lloris Karius has earned the No.1 shirt in recent months ahead of Simon Mignolet, whose future looks bleak at Anfield.

With the Belgium international seemingly on his way out, Alisson is being targeted.

The Brazil star has been sensational in Serie A and the Champions League for Roma, who value him at £62m.

Despite that potentially meaning Liverpool would have to pay a world-record fee for a keeper, it appears they believe Alisson is worth the money.

According to Sky Sports, discussions are underway over a move.

Talks are at an early stage, being conducted via an Italian intermediary following an enquiry from Liverpool in January.

And the Reds are now looking to sign the 26-year-old.

Sky Sports add Liverpool hope to persuade Roma to sell Alisson in the coming weeks.

The Italian club have not yet tied him down to a new contract, despite their desire to do so.

European giants Real Madrid and PSG are set to be in the market for a new keeper this summer as well, with Liverpool plotting to quickly see off any rivals.

A deal is already in place for defensive midfielder Naby Keita to arrive from RB Leipzig at the end of the campaign, with Liverpool going down a similar route with Alisson.
