Marcus Bean earns Wycombe a point at Exeter

Promotion rivals Exeter and Wycombe shared the spoils in an entertaining 1-1 draw at St James Park.
Lloyd James’s 12th-minute opener for the hosts was cancelled out by Marcus Bean early in the second half as third-placed Wycombe remained four points clear of their opponents, who stay seventh in League Two.
Exeter took the lead in the 12th minute when a Lloyd James free-kick from wide out on the left evaded everyone inside the penalty box and crept in at the back post.
And the Grecians almost added a second when Jayden Stockley flicked on a long throw, but Jordan Tillson could not get a touch at the back post.
Wycombe started the second half well and Paris Cowan-Hall was denied by a good save from Christy Pym.
But the equaliser came in the 53rd minute when the home defence failed to clear their lines and Bean smashed in the loose ball from close range.
Tafari Moore forced Pym into another good save, while Wycombe goalkeeper Scott Brown was down quickly to keep out Pierce Sweeney’s header as the game ended all square.
