Ched Evans in frame for rare Sheffield United appearance

Sheffield United striker Ched Evans could make his first league appearance since September in the home game against Aston Villa.
Evans stepped off the bench in Saturday’s FA Cup win against Preston after recovering from an ankle injury and is hoping to feature again.
Recent signings Ricky Holmes, Lee Evans and Ryan Leonard, all ineligible to face Preston, will return to contention while Billy Sharp is pushing for a recall after scoring Saturday’s winner from the penalty spot.
Defender Kieron Freeman (knee) is still working his way back to full fitness and midfielder David Brooks is recovering from glandular fever.
New signing Axel Tuanzebe is set to make his Villa debut as he brings options in midfield and defence for manager Steve Bruce.
The England Under-21 international has signed on loan from Manchester United and Bruce has already indicated he is expected to play a key role as fifth-placed Villa push for promotion to the Premier League.
Defender Tommy Elphick will be unavailable against the Blades as Bruce expects him to join Reading on loan before the transfer window closes on Wednesday.
Centre-half Chris Samba is back in training after a month out with a hamstring injury and is not ready to return to competitive action. Striker Gabriel Agbonlahor is also working his way back to fitness after a month on the sidelines.
