JUVENTUS have signed Pirlo!

No, not that one — Andrea's son, Nicolo Pirlo.

Il Corriere di Torino report the 15-year-old has been added to the club's list of under-16 signings made this month.

Like his legendary father, Pirlo Jnr is a central midfielder, though he does tend to operate slightly further forward.

But Andrea himself insists there are similarities between the pair.

He proudly said: "He reminds me a lot of myself. A lot of quality, but with little ferocity.

"He enjoys himself while playing football and that is the most important thing."

Nicolo, who wears the No 8 shirt, was born in 2003 — the year Pirlo Snr won the first of his two Champions League titles.

He currently plays for local side Pecetto, and was by far his side's best player, despite losing 1-0 at home to Sant'Ignazio, with his famous father watching on.

Pirlo once said that, when he watches youngsters play, he can immediately tell whether the boy has talent by how well he can control and pass a ball.

And, judging by reports, Nicolo excels in that area.

There is still plenty of time for him, with Andrea suffering plenty of early setbacks before establishing himself as one of the best midfielders of a generation.

He was deemed not good enough at Inter Milan by both Marcello Lippi and Roy Hodgson, before moving on to AC Milan, where he won the Champions League twice.

However, in 2011 he was released and joined Juventus at the age of 32 where he won Serie A Player of the Year for three seasons in a row.
