Sons and Bairns labour towards drab draw

Dumbarton and Falkirk fought out a lifeless goalless draw that justified its billing as a clash between two of the Ladbrokes Championship's poorest teams.
Falkirk made one change, with Rory Loy restored to the starting XI, and they enjoyed the better of the first half, controlling the ball for long spells and making sure keeper Scott Gallacher was kept busy.
Dumbarton were fortunate to reach half-time with the scoreline locked at 0-0 and had the reflexes of Gallacher to thank.
Play was held up for eight minutes in the second half after Dumbarton defender Chris McLaughlin took a heavy knock that required lengthy treatment before he was carried from the pitch on a stretcher.
The stoppage made for a lengthy spell of stoppage time but, with both teams tiring, the deadlock persisted until the final whistle.
