Karim Benzema scored twice in Real Madrid's 6-0 demolition of APOEL and he vowed to end the recent criticism he has received with more goals and assists.
The former Lyon forward has been on the receiving end of whistling and booing from his own supporters of late, although he retains the full support of Zinedine Zidane.
"I'm going to end the criticism with goals and assists," he explained in the mixed zone.
"I know I can do it and I will do it better than ever.
"I want to give more."
A lack of goals has seen Benzema be the target of numerous analysts across the continent with many suggestions Los Blancos would be better without him in the team.
Benzema hit back.
"I always want to score, I'm a striker," he intimated.
"However, it isn't just about scoring, I can do more things.
"I always focus on my teammates, if I can help them with a pass or a run, then I do."
It was noted how the Frenchman celebrated with Borja Mayoral and the veteran made clear that he takes his position as a role model very seriously.
"I know that I am an example for Mayoral," he admitted.
"I like it, he is young.
"I like for him to always look to me and learn with me."
As with all of his previous runs with poor form, Benzema's future at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu has been called into question; however those in power at the club remain confident in his abilities and the 29-year-old showed no signs of wanting to leave."I am very happy in Madrid," he confirmed.
