Andy King has revealed Leicester boss Claude Puel is bringing the good times back

Puel was an unpopular appointment when he replaced Craig Shakespeare as Leicester boss last month.

But he has led his new team to four points from his first two games in charge and King has backed the Frenchman to keep on pushing the Foxes up the table.

"I've worked with a lot of managers at Leicester and from what I've seen in the last couple of weeks, Claude is up there with some of the best we've had at the club," said King.

"He is a nice guy and he has the players right behind him straight away. What he's trying to do is take the team forward and you can see that with the results we've had so far.

"I've been really impressed by him. He's come in and done things the right way. It's early days, but I think he can be really positive for the club."

Puel was sacked by Southampton in June, despite leading the Saints to eighth in the Premier League and the final of the League Cup.

The 56-year-old has a reputation for producing dour football, but King is a big fan of his new boss' approach.

He said: "Claude will definitely bring stability, he's got a good CV and I've been really impressed.

"He's worked at some big clubs like Monaco and I can see what he's trying to do with the squad.

"I know his teams are hard to play against and he has really good tactical and coaching knowledge in how he wants to set his teams up.

"It helps when you have a good start. It's exciting times and it's still early enough in the league for us to look up and not down. We can have a really positive season."
