Chelsea defender Luiz dropped twice in one week after Brazil omission

David Luiz has been dropped for the second time this week, this time by Brazil manager Tite, who has left the Chelsea defender out of his squad for the upcoming friendlies against Japan and England.

The news comes shortly after the 30-year-old was surprisingly omitted from the first-team squad for the Blues 1-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday.

Multiple reports have suggested that there could be friction between Luiz and manager Antonio Conte.

The Italian was asked if Luiz would remain at the club after the victory at Stamford Bridge, to which he replied: "I don't know.

"He has to work really hard otherwise they are on the bench or in the stand.

"It was a tactical decision. There is [Andreas] Christensen in really good form and also we have [Ethan] Ampadu who is a good young player. The club like to play with the young player.

"We are conceding many goals so you have to find stability and solidity. We have to be patient with the team and defend in the right way."
