Queen of the South hold off late fightback to beat Falkirk

Queen of the South held off a late fight back from Falkirk to eventually win 4-2.

They looked home and dry after 75 minutes as they led 3-0 through goals from Stephen Dobbie, Lyndon Dykes and Darren Brownlie before Joe McKee and Jordan McGhee struck in the final five minutes to give the hosts a fright.

But Lyle Taylor's injury-time goal made the game safe.

Dobbie opened the scoring in the 16th minute when a short backpass left Bairns goalkeeper Robbie Thomson in trouble and his clearance rebounded off Dobbie, who then converted.

Three minutes later Dykes got on the scoresheet when he latched on to Dobbie's flick on and converted well.

Brownlie thought he had made the game safe with 15 minutes remaining when he headed home Connor Murray's cross, only for McKee's late free-kick and McGhee's strike to give Falkirk hope.

Taylor settled the nerves in time added on with a breakaway goal.
