Benzema silences his critics

Real Madrid's trip to Getafe was even more challenging than expected and it took a late goal from a frustrated Cristiano Ronaldo to seal the three points, but it was Karim Benzema who shone brighter than the rest.

Benzema was not only the man to score a crucial goal on the day but he was a creative force throughout and, without him, it would have been even more of an uphill battle which might not have ended with three points.

Isco constantly does things that others are simply unable to do and his pass to Ronaldo - that L1 + Triangle style through ball - could prove to be worth more than three points come May.

Pain and disappointment

Alvaro Jimenez and Sergio Ramos went toe-to-toe throughout and the former is going to wake up in some serious pain in his ribs with Ramos leaving his mark.

Even the best have their off days and that was the case for Toni Kroos in Getafe. He was unrecognizable and struggled to complete simple passes.

Elsewhere, Djene Dakonam was an example for anyone who has been told they are too short to play football and on Saturday he was vital for his team, winning headers, tackles and keeping the ball moving for his side.
