Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini has described his team-mate Alessandro Florenzi as "amazing" after he returned to help his side beat Hellas Verona 3-0 last weekend.
Florenzi was out for nearly a year as a consequence of two anterior cruciate ligament injuries but, having returned to full fitness, the 26-year-old returned to action against Hellas Verona and produced an excellent performance, the highlight of which saw him provide an assist for Edin Dzeko.
Asked about Florenzi, Pellegrini, as reported by Football Italia, said: "Ale made an incredible comeback. He returned with serenity and desire and ran more than everyone else. Ale's amazing."
Florenzi is capable of playing in various positions, including as a central midfielder or a winger, but was deployed at right-back against Hellas Verona. He excelled, completing 88 per cent of the passes that he attempted, while he made five defensive actions.
Aside from a loan spell with Crotone in the 2011/12 season, Florenzi has spent his entire career to date with Roma, having progressed through the ranks at the club's academy.
The 26-year-old will hope to soon re-establish himself in the Italy squad, having been capped by his country on 24 occasions so far.
