Reading could hand Wales midfielder Dave Edwards his debut in the Sky Bet Championship clash with Bristol City.
Edwards joined the Royals from Wolves in a B£1million deal ahead of the transfer deadline, and then featured in Wales' World Cup qualifiers against Austria and Moldova.
Iceland forward Jon Dadi Bodvarsson returned to action from a knee problem to score in the 2-0 win at Birmingham last time out, so should feature again.
Defender Jordan Obita (ankle) has stepped up his recovery along with midfielder John Swift (hamstring) and winger Callum Harriott, who has yet to feature this season, while striker Yann Kermorgant continues his rehabilitation following hip and groin surgery
Bristol City have German midfielder Jens Hegeler available after an ankle problem.
But Gary O'Neil is still at least a week away from full fitness after picking up a knee injury and Matty Taylor is not ready to start following groin trouble.
Bosnian striker Milan Djuric faces another six to eight weeks out and will continue his recovery from groin surgery in Italy.
England Under-18 international Jonathan Leko could be included in the squad for the first time after making a season-long loan move from West Brom.
