Messi could miss Barcelona's match against Sevilla

If Argentina become involved in the upcoming World Cup playoff matches

If Argentina don't manage to climb the South American World Cup qualifying table, Lionel Messi might miss Barcelona's encounter against Sevilla in November.

The fifth-ranked team of the qualifiers is set to fight for their spot in the upcoming World Cup in Russia through playoff matches, and the first leg has been set by FIFA for Monday, November 6.

Therefore, none of the players called by the South American team will be able to participate in LaLiga's matchday 11.

Among them are Messi, Luis Suarez and Javier Mascherano.

The regulations state that the players have to be called for their international team four days before the match, while Uruguay, Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Chile and Paraguay are the six teams that could finish fifth.

The Spanish games, teams and players that could be possibly affected by such an occurrence are:

Barcelona-Sevilla: Messi, Mascherano, Mercado, Banega, Correa, Pareja, Pizarro (Argentina); Luis Suarez (Uruguay) and Muriel (Colombia).

Deportivo La Coruna-Atletico Madrid : Godin, Gimenez, Valverde (Uruguay); Correa and Augusto Fernandez (Argentina).

Alaves-Espanyol: Romero, Hernan Perez (Paraguay); and Torres (Colombia).

Villarreal-Malaga: Bacca (Colombia); Ricca and Rolan (Uruguay).

Real Madrid-Las Palmas : Lemus (Uruguay).

Real Sociedad-Eibar : Rulli (Argentina).

Levante-Girona : Stuani (Uruguay).

Celta-Athletic : Hernandez (Chile).

Valencia-Leganes : Orellana (Chile).
