Plymouth waiting on fitness of midfielder Oscar Threlkeld

Plymouth are hopeful that midfielder Oscar Threlkeld will be fit for Saturday's Home Park clash against Charlton.

Threlkeld was among a number of changes made for the midweek Carabao Cup game at Bristol City - Argyle lost 5-0 - but he went off midway through the second-half after suffering a dead leg.

Striker Ryan Taylor, though, is set to be out for three months after it was confirmed he suffered a broken ankle during last weekend's defeat against Peterborough, with Nathan Blissett likely to lead the line for Charlton's visit.

But there is better news about midfielder Jamie Ness, who moved to Plymouth from Scunthorpe earlier this year. Ness was injured during pre-season, and he has now returned to full training and is on the comeback trail.

Charlton are without the suspended Lee Novak following the striker's red card in last week's defeat of Bristol Rovers.

Fellow striker Josh Magennis also misses out, owing to a knee injury.

Charlton also won on Tuesday away to Exeter in the Carabao Cup, after manager Karl Robinson made numerous changes, but he is expected to revert to much of his previous selection.

Harry Lennon, Lewis Page and Mark Marshall are all longer-term absentees.
