Oxford defender Charlie Raglan to miss Portsmouth clash with ankle injury

Oxford enter their home Sky Bet League One match against Portsmouth without centre-back Charlie Raglan.

Raglan suffered an ankle injury in training last week that was originally thought to be minor, only for a scan to reveal extensive ligament damage that rules him out until November.

New signing Ivo Pekalski comes into contention after completing his signing for the club.

The Sweden midfielder has joined for an undisclosed fee but did not arrive in time for the 4-3 Carabao Cup defeat by Cheltenham.

Portsmouth, meanwhile, are braced to see left-back Tareiq Holmes-Dennis face a lengthy spell sidelined after he damaged ankle ligaments during last Saturday's 2-0 victory over Rochdale.

Holmes-Dennis, who is on loan at Fratton Park from Huddersfield, could be out for three or four months. He is due to see a specialist on Friday.

Pompey will head to the Kassam Stadium without Jamal Lowe, who will serve the second game of a three-match ban following his red card in the Rochdale game.

But striker Conor Chaplin and midfielder Carl Baker both look set to start after being on the bench for Portsmouth's midweek Carabao Cup defeat against Cardiff.
