Kelechi Iheanacho completes reported £25m move to Leicester City from Manchester City on a five-year deal

Kelechi Iheanacho has completed his move to Leicester City from Manchester City.

Sky Sports are reporting that a fee has been agreed between the clubs of £25m for the Nigerian international, with a buy-back clause worth £50m.

The Foxes had been the favourites to sign Iheanacho all summer, due to his first-team opportunities being limited at Manchester City and his move to the King Power Stadium was made official via the club's official website this evening.

The insertion of a buy-back clause however would suggest that City still have faith in the young goalscorer to develop into a world class striker and the Nigerian international has expressed his delight at the move.

"It feels good and I'm happy to be part of this team," he told the club's official website.

"I know the ambition of the team and speaking with the manager, he let me know what I need to do – to help the team achieve what they want.

"I was convinced and I'm happy to be here.

"I was happy speaking with the manager, knowing what the team wants. It gives me more confidence that I will fit in this team and hopefully I'll achieve a lot."

Iheanacho joined the City youth ranks at the age of 17 in 2014, making his debut a year later.

His impressive record at such a young age of 21 goals in 64 appearances demonstrates exactly why City were so keen to have a buy-back clause.

Manchester City player exodus

Iheanacho joins a list of 19 players who have already left the club. Pep Guardiola is currently undergoing a complete overhaul of the City team, so they may better challenge for the Premier League title next season.

Having spent in excess of £200m, Guardiola will know the pressure will be on this season to win silverware.

City are not a team who are known to tolerate failure, and last season's trophyless season will mark a dark stamp against the Spaniard's regal record.
