Carvajal's free pass

Danilo's move to Manchester City has given Dani Carvajal a free ride in the right-back position, which will further strengthen his status as a starter in that area for Real Madrid.
There was no real doubt that it was already the case, but the departure of the Brazilian absolutely confirms it.

Since the arrival of Danilo in 2015, the figure of Carvajal grew dramatically, to become one of the best right-backs in the world.

The academy player didn't give Zinedine Zidane any option other than to play him, and, at the same time, Danilo also had no luck, never offering the version expected of him.

Two years later, with Carvajal untouchable, Madrid had no qualms about recovering the investment on Danilo and consider with some certainty that the 25-year-old will be a starter for a long time to come.

The absolute boss

Now the plan is to respect Carvajal and not bring a competitor for his position.

Madrid will not sign another top-class right-back and will be limited to look for a substitute to cover his absences.

Zidane's solutions are the versatility of Nacho, the possibility of staying with Achraf or Tejero and even experimenting with Lucas, who could be a good resource if Nacho has to cover centrally.

Another option is to look for a good, cheap player in the market that accepts the role of substitute.
