Arsenal stars Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott have been linked with a move to West Ham

The Hammers face a battle persuading the Gunners to accept their offer for the two forwards.

But Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger plans a major revamp of his squad this summer and is ready to sell.

France international Giroud and England winger Walcott had inconsistent seasons with the Gunners and it is understood the Frenchman would not stand on their way if they want to go to the Irons.

Much depends on Wenger being able to bring in new faces. Starsport revealed yesterday a sensational swap deal with Manchester City had been discussed.

It would see Alexis Sanchez going to City and Sergio Aguero joining the Gunners.

Wenger would also love to land Monaco’s 18-year-old sensation Kylian Mbappe.

But the striker’s most likely destination if he leaves looks to be Real Madrid, almost certainly for a world-record fee of around £100m.

And Arsenal have been told by Lyon chief executive Jean-Michel Aulas they must come up with £57m if they are to land France international Alexandre Lacazette.

But whoever Wenger persuades to move to The Emirates it looks like Giroud and Walcott’s days are numbered at the club.

Other players on the way out are left-back Kieran Gibbs, who was made available by Wenger with the Gunners boss also ready to listen to offers for midfielder Francis Coquelin.

The future is brighter for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain with a new deal for the England star at The Emirates close to being finalised.

And Spaniard Hector Bellerin appears to have accepted he will have to stay at Arsenal for at least another year despite strong interest from Barcelona.

So far Wenger’s only new addition to his squad had been the free transfer signing of left-back Sead Kolasinac from German side Schalke.
