Spurs urged to sign 16-goal Josh King as well as Barkley

Tottenham should focus on completing deals for Bournemouth's Joshua King and Everton star Ross Barkley, according to former midfielder Micky Hazard.

Tottenham are yet to make any moves in the transfer window but have been linked with King and Barkley as Mauricio Pochettino looks to improve his squad after a second placed finish this season.

Spurs know they need added quality to compete on four fronts, having struggled in the Champions League this campaign, and Hazard believes his old side should go all out to sign both King and Barkley.

King scored an impressive 16 goals in the Premier League this campaign and Hazard believes the Norweigen is the perfect option to compliment Harry Kane in attack.

And Hazard reckons the 25-year-old is the right option as Spurs can't attract a big-money player just to sit on the bench.

He told TalkSPORT: "You’re not going to attract a £50 million, £60 million player to cover for Harry Kane."

"King is one of the players I’ve been advocating going out and getting. He scores goals, he's quick, he's powerful, he's strong. He's slightly different to Harry."

"What we didn't want was two Harrys – obviously we'd have two Harrys of course – but we want someone who would complement him too. So King would be perfect."

The former Spurs man also wants his former team to bring in Barkley from Everton. The England international's future at Goodison Park is unclear with just one year remaining on his contract.

Hazard reckons that Pochettino's training philosophy and style could be perfect for the midfielder and could see him become crucial for both club and country.

He added: "Ross Barkley for me would be another great signing. I'd love to see Barkley under Pochettino's regime. The way Poch trains the boys, gets their fitness levels up, the way he works on his press and high press and what have you."

"Barkley, under that, I’m sure could progress lovely and it would benefit England as well."
