Real Madrid vs Sevilla - Zidane ready for three LaLiga cup finals with Real Madrid

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane believes his team have had a "phenomenal" season so far, but warned the hard work still lies ahead if they are to end the campaign with some silverware.

Sevilla are the visitors to the Bernabeu on Sunday, with Real needing seven points from their last three games to secure a first LaLiga success since 2012.

They are currently level on points with Barcelona, who top the table on head-to-head record, and also booked a Champions League final spot against Juventus next month by seeing off city rivals Atletico Madrid in midweek.

However, Zidane is looking no further ahead than Sunday's meeting with Sevilla as Real aim to topple Barca in the standings.

"We have three cup finals in LaLiga and we're starting with the first, tomorrow," the Frenchman told realmadrid.com.

We are only thinking about Sevilla. It is another chance to get vital points and keep soldiering on. It is a decisive game, just like the others, and we will do everything possible to get the three points.

"The matches are difficult. Sevilla have been towards the top of the LaLiga table all year and I think they're great, but we know these games will be tricky.

"Celta and Malaga are also doing well. Malaga have been impressive as of late. But we can only think about tomorrow's game, which is the first of three.

"The details matter in football. Until now we've been phenomenal. We're in the Champions League final and we're doing well in LaLiga, but we haven't won anything just yet. We're doing well physically and mentally. It will not affect us playing hard games till the end."

A Sevilla victory in the Spanish capital would put a huge dent in Real's chances of finishing the season on top and could hand the initiative back to defending champions Barca, if the Catalan club can win at Las Palmas.

And Gabriel Mercado hopes to ruin Madrid's title aspirations as he aims for maximum points from Sevilla's two remaining fixtures.

Argentinian defender Mercado, who was an unused substitute when Sevilla ended Real's unbeaten league record in January, believes his side are capable of causing another upset to complete a memorable double.

"We played well against them this season so we've got a chance," the 30-year-old told Sevilla's official website.

"It's up to us to be confident and sure in ourselves, and have to desire to play well against them to give ourselves a chance of winning.

"We'll go there with everything we've got and we'll fight to produce a good performance to finish the season strongly."

Fourth-placed Sevilla are almost guaranteed to qualify for next season's Champions League through their league position, although they need one more point to make mathematically certain.

They also have a slim chance of making up the five-point gap to Atletico Madrid in third, something former River Plate man Mercado has not given up hope of.

"We'll fight as long as it's possible," he added. "It won't be easy, but while there's hope we'll keep fighting.

"If there's the slightest chance, we have to take six points. It would be essential to win on Sunday.

"We're working towards that, we're training well to be on top of our game. We know that they're tough opposition, but we have things to play for and we have to fight for them."
