Rotherham United vs Brighton & Hove Albion - Lee Frecklington in contention to start for Rotherham against Brighton
Posted Monday, March 06, 2017 by PA
Rotherham midfielder Lee Frecklington is hoping to make his first start since early January in the home game against Brighton.
Frecklington stepped off the bench at half-time during Saturday's home defeat to Aston Villa having been sidelined following ankle surgery.
Fellow midfielder John Taylor will be assessed after sustaining a glute injury against Villa, while deadline-day signing Carlton Morris (hamstring) hopes to be in contention for his debut in next weekend's game at Wolves.
Goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell (finger), plus defenders Joel Ekstrand (knee), Darnell Fisher (hamstring) and Richard Wood (groin) are all still out.
Brighton will be without central defender Shane Duffy, who is expected to be sidelined for at least six weeks after fracturing his ankle in the weekend defeat at Nottingham Forest.
The Republic of Ireland international is scheduled for surgery on Tuesday but hopes to be available before the end of the season.
Striker Chuba Akpom remains doubtful after missing out on Saturday due to a minor knee problem, but goalkeeper Niki Maenpaa is back in contention after being sidelined since January with a shoulder injury.
Sebastien Pocognoli (groin) and fellow defender Gataen Bong (knee) are both still out as Brighton bid to bounce back from two successive league defeats.
