Like most teams in the UK, the Hoops have a pretty packed festive schedule, with matches against Dundee, Hamilton and Partick Thistle all still to come before the 25th, as well as a match against Ross County at Parkhead on the 28th, before a massive game against Rangers on the 31st.

However, according to the Celtic website, Rodgers will be taking a break from his hectic role at Celtic Park to spend Christmas morning in the Northern Ireland Hospice, of which he is an ambassador.

Rodgers' late mother Christina was a carer and the Northern Ireland Hospice provided care for his father Malachy before he passed away due to throat cancer in 2011.

Rodgers has since donated the proceeds from the sale of his late parents' house to the hospice as away of honouring their memory.

Speaking to the Celtic View, via the Celtic Website, he said:

"I'll spend Christmas morning there with the families and the kids who are terminally ill. Then later on I've got family that I'll have Christmas dinner with and then I'll fly back first thing on Boxing Day morning as we're training and we'll be getting ready for the game.

"My Mum was a carer and looked after people, my Dad always looked after people and I was always brought up to think of others and where you can help, you try to do that extra and go that extra mile to do it."

Regardless of which team you support, we're sure you'll agree it's a rather nice gesture.

Well played, Brendan.
