Winks happy to repay the faith
Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks heaped praise on head coach Mauricio Pochettino after he scored his first ever senior club goal in the dramatic 3-2 win over West Ham United.

Winks celebrated the first league start of his career by scoring the goal to make it 1-1 and made a bee line straight to his manager after the ball hit the back of the net.

The 20-year-old, who joined the club as 16-year-old finally got his crack in the Premier League in a midfield holding role alongside Victor Wanyama and admits it's a moment he will savour for the rest of his life.

"I could have kept running. I had a burst of energy and saw my family at the top (of the stand) as well and pointed to them. It was unbelievable," Winks said,

"He [Pochettino] has given me my chance and put me into the first team. That was a 'thank-you' to him for everything he's done for me.

"That is one moment in my life I can never repeat," he added. "I can't explain it, being a Spurs fan as well, scoring the equaliser against West Ham, it was brilliant."
