Stade Rennais FC 1 - 0 Metz: In-form Rennes beat Metz in Ligue 1 thanks to Wesley Said strike
Posted Monday, October 31, 2016 by PA
Rennes extended their unbeaten Ligue 1 run to five games with a 1-0 win over Metz on Sunday.
Wesley Said's goal 11 minutes into the second half saw the hosts claim a fourth win in the last five games and complete an unbeaten October.
Rennes are now fifth in the table, nine points behind leaders Nice and three behind second-placed Monaco.
Metz, by comparison, have lost four straight Ligue 1 games, conceding 13 goals in the process.
Said's strike came as he converted a fine pass from Paul-Georges Ntep.
And that combination proved the difference as Rennes saw out victory.
