AC Milan plot move to end Depay’s Man United nightmare

AC Milan are planning to end Memphis Depay's Manchester United nightmare with a big-money raid, according to Tuttomartcatoweb.

The Netherlands international has endured a torrid time at Old Trafford since Louis van Gaal signed him from PSV for £25million last summer.

Despite arriving at the club with a huge promise, Depay has since struggled to make his mark on English football and is now expected to leave the club in January.

AC Milan are reportedly interested in bringing the 22-year-old to Serie A and are lining up a big-money deal to make it happen once the winter transfer window opens.

The Serie A giants have recently been taken over by Chinese investors after Silvio Berlusconi sold the majority of his shares in a deal that reportedly values the club at £649m.

This means manager Vincenzo Montella could be given a sizeable transfer kitty to strengthen his team in January in order to help the club begin climbing up the table once more following three consecutive seasons finishing outside of the top seven.

And it is believed Memphis Depay is being targeted as one of those who could help Milan return to the top of Italian football.

Depay has made 52 first team appearances for the Red Devils, contributing seven goals and seven assists.
