Napoli vs AC Milan - Giacomo Bonaventura backs AC Milan to leave Napoli with all three points

Giacomo Bonaventura has backed AC Milan to seal a Serie A victory at Napoli on Saturday - despite his belief that their opponents are one of the strongest teams in the division.

Vincenzo Montella's side started the league campaign with an entertaining 3-2 win over Torino in which striker Carlos Bacca bagged a hat-trick.

Milan finished 25 points adrift of Napoli last season, ending the year down in seventh place - but Bonaventura has backed them to come up with the goods and extend their winning start this time around.

"Every player would like to play these matches, they can make you improve," the Italy midfielder told Milan's official website.

"We must go there knowing Napoli are a strong team, one of the best of the league, so we must prepare wisely. We must be focused on the three points, knowing we can make it.

"I would like to play in a great atmosphere, with our fans cheering for us. We want to create this atmosphere among us players and pass it on to fans to create a positive environment where everyone can give their best."

Former Fiorentina and Sampdoria coach Montella was appointed new boss of Milan in June and Bonaventura is already impressed with what the 42-year-old has brought to the San Siro.

"With Montella we are playing a different style of football than in recent years, more offensive," he added.

"We play the ball more and we have a more attacking mentality. The teams he has managed always play good football, and that's our goal. If we play well the results will come."

Napoli's season began with a 2-2 draw at newly-promoted Pescara and midfielder Jorginho wants to celebrate their opening home game of the season with a high-profile scalp.

Asked by the club's official website what he expected on Saturday, the 24-year-old said: "Certainly a good match.

"There are two teams running in search of goals and I believe it can be a spectacular match. We are working hard and we want to give our best after the draw of Pescara .

"I'm ready to give my contribution, we will have a very important game and we hope to give joy to the fans in this first match at the Stadio San Paolo."
