Three players that Chelsea should replace if they want to win title

After a terrible title defence that saw Chelsea end outside the qualification spots for European competition, the Blues will be aiming to bounce back next season with several new players. Although some departures are certainly expected, incoming manager Antonio Conte should consider forcing out a select few in his squad.

Cesc Fabregas

Fabregas has been played all across midfield this season, most frequently in a more defensive-oriented role where he has struggled to make any impact. The 29-year-old managed just 7 league assists all season, 3 of which came from a single game against lowly Bournemouth, and no longer appears to be the same superstar that shined at Barcelona. Although the player began to impress towards the end of the campaign, Fabregas is wildly inconsistent, and the entire team suffers as a result. There are many better natural box-to-box midfielders up for grabs in the transfer market, and Chelsea should pursue players such as Leicester City's N'Golo Kante if they want to regain control in the middle of the pitch.

Oscar

As with Fabregas, Brazilian playmaker Oscar was under performing during the opening stages of the season, and never quite recovered. The 24-year-old supplied just 3 league goals and assists, and was increasingly used as a substitute by caretaker manager Guus Hiddink.

Recent rumours have suggested that Oscar would be interested in a ï¿¡20m move to Juventus, and Chelsea would be wise to sell. The player is part of Brazil's Copa America Centenario squad, and a strong showing in the tournament could raise Oscar's price tag further.

Borussia Dortmund's Henrikh Mkhitaryan is believed to be wanting a transfer away from the Bundesliga, and his incredible statistics speak for themselves.

Loic Remy

The French striker's career has stalled since moving from Queens Park Rangers in 2014, after an impressive loan spell with Newcastle United initially alerted Chelsea. The 29-year-old was instantly overshadowed by the arrival of the more accomplished Diego Costa, and has never quite provided enough competition for the spot.

Remy made just 3 Premier League starts all season, netting a single goal against Leicester, and has been linked with a move to Fenerbahce for regular playing time.

Ideally, Chelsea should be targeting a striker capable of testing Costa and providing an alternative approach, with Alvaro Morata one potential solution.
