Barcelona captain, Andres Iniesta, is the most notable absentee from the squad list announced by Luis Enrique in the aftermath of 'Los Azulgranas' final training session prior to their away game against Villarreal.
The 'La Roja' international midfielder had earlier been left out of the squad named by Vicente del Bosque for the two friendly games which Spain are set to play during the international break. Luis Enrique clearly didn't want to risk the veteran, after he was forced to come off during the second half of Wednesday night's Champions League game against Arsenal.
The other players who were left out of the squad for the trip to El Madrigal include Jordi Masip, Douglas, Rafinha and Thomas Vermaelen, whilst Sandro Ramírez misses out through injury.
The full list of 'Blaugranas' who will be bidding to move a step closer to claiming La Liga glory after Atletico Madrid fell to a 2-1 defeat in Gijon is Ter Stegen, Bravo, Pique, Rakitic, Sergio, Alves, Arda, Suarez, Messi, Neymar Jr, Mascherano, Bartra, Munir, Jordi Alba, Sergi Roberto, Adriano, Aleix Vidal and Mathieu.
