Ribery not moving for all the tea in China

Alex Teixeira, Fredy Guarin, Jackson Martinez... The Chinese Super League clubs splashed the cash like there was no tomorrow during the recent transfer window. The Asian powerhouse made a multimillion investment in top-level footballers who were recruited from big European sides. Exorbitant figures and absurdly high salaries were not enough to tempt Franck Ribery to move to the Far East, however.

The French star has shown that being happy and enjoying success with the club you love is more important than financial gain: "If I want to earn much more money, I'll have to go to China. I had an offer, but it doesn't interest me. Money isn't the most important thing for me", Ribery told Bild.

The 32-year-old has been plagued by injuries over the last few seasons and has struggled to maintain his fitness. His two most recent setbacks have disrupted him during this campaign, but now he is back. The winger has featured in each of Bayern's last four games, starting in one of them, and he seems to be in buoyant mood: "I'd like to stay in Munich for another two years", he admitted. Ribery's current contract expires in June 2017, but he is not thinking about what may lie ahead when his spell with the German champions comes to an end: "I just want to enjoy myself here with the fans and win trophies with Bayern. This is my club".
