Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink sets sights on Europe after Norwich win
Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink says Norwich forced his side into a battle in the second half

Interim boss Guus Hiddink says he has a European finish in his sights after Chelsea's 2-1 win over Norwich on Tuesday.

Goals from Kenedy and Diego Costa saw the reigning Premier League champions climb to eighth in the table, five points behind fifth-placed Manchester United and eight adrift of Manchester City in fourth.

Chelsea were 16th and one point above the relegation zone when Jose Mourinho left the club in December - but they are unbeaten in league football under Hiddink and he says their priorities have now changed.

"Now with the ambition of Chelsea we must set a new target and see what we can do in the direction of Europe," Hiddink said.

"We have now won a few games in a row. We have to keep on winning. If everyone is on board and there are no big injuries, we'd like to go as high as possible towards the European spots."

The victory at Carrow Road means Chelsea have won three Premier League games in a row for the first time since April 2015.

He added Sky Sports: "It's important. Everyone knows how we started in December. We were down, almost in the relegation zone.

"We had a target to get ourselves out of that as soon as possible. We started to do it with draws but now we have won a few games in a row and that's encouraging.

"We didn't want to go into a battle but they forced us into one because we were a bit sloppy. We started very well through a beautiful goal from Kenedy and I think we could have finished it off earlier in the first-half.

"We were a bit complacent in the last third. We eventually got 2-0 but they made our life difficult at the end."
