Queens Park Rangers vs Birmingham - QPR hope Alejandro Faurlin is fit to face Birmingham

QPR are hoping Alejandro Faurlin will be fit in time to face Birmingham.

The Argentinian midfielder has a thigh problem which has kept him out of the last three matches but is close to being back in contention.

Goalkeeper Alex Smithies will be fine to keep his place despite suffering cuts to his face thanks to a stray boot against Sheffield Wednesday in midweek.

Midfielder Tjaronn Chery and winger Jamie Mackie are pushing for recalls following the 1-1 draw at Hillsborough.

Nicolai Brock-Madsen could return to Birmingham's squad following a thigh injury.

The striker suffered the problem in training on Monday and sat out Tuesday's 1-0 Sky Bet Championship win over Bolton as a precaution but boss Gary Rowett expects to have him available.

Neal Eardley's cruciate knee ligament injury, which he suffered last month, keeps him sidelined until the end of the season.

Rowett must also decide whether to select Jon Toral or Diego Fabbrini as the pair fight for the attacking midfield berth.
