Doncaster Rovers vs Scunthorpe United: Felipe Mattioni on course to feature for Doncaster

Posted Thursday, December 24, 2015 by PA

Doncaster are hopeful Felipe Mattioni will be back for their M18 derby with Scunthorpe on Boxing Day.

Everton loanee Mattioni has been absent with a foot injury, but has returned to training and could be in the frame against the Iron.

Gary MacKenzie (ankle) and Curtis Main (back) are still injured while Harry Forrester has an illness.

Cameron Stewart and Dany N'Guessan are hoping to feature as Rovers aim to make it six games unbeaten in all competitions.

Scunthorpe club captain Stephen Dawson is hoping to make his first appearance since August.

Midfielder Dawson has been sidelined since undergoing knee surgery in September but returned as an unused substitute for last week's home defeat to Sheffield United and could feature.

Manager Mark Robins has no major new injury or suspension concerns, with winger Gary McSheffrey the only long-term absentee following his knee operation earlier this month.

Scunthorpe, who have lost their last seven matches against their local rivals, have not scored a league goal at Glanford Park since the end of October.
