ARSENAL are looking to finalise new deals for Mesut Ozil and Nacho Monreal to warn off interested clubs.

Ozil has been the subject of much speculation recently, with Fenerbahce reportedly keen on the midfield star.

The German's agent, Erkut Sogut, revealed yesterday that a move to the Turkish giants was a 'serious option'.

He said: "Fenerbahce wants to sign Mesut Ozil, but the main thing is he wants to stay at the Emirates Stadium.

"Arsenal will make a decision at the end of the season. Nevertheless, it is very difficult to predict in advance that decision.

"If Arsenal agrees to the transfer, Fenerbahce will be a serious option for us."

But according to The Mirror, Arsene Wenger and co are working hard to extend Ozil's contract which is currently set to run out in 2018.

Ozil, who has Turkish ancestry, is understood to be happy in north London and will put pen to paper on a new Gunners deal soon.

Meanwhile, defender Monreal has already been offered a new terms, with a three-year extension on the table.

Reports had said that La Liga outfit Athletic Bilbao were keeping tabs on the 29-year-old.

But the Spanaird is expected to sign with Arsenal soon and join Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud, both of whom tied down fresh contracts in the summer.
