Chelsea will look to offload Victor Moses to Stoke on a permanent deal at the end of the season to make way for the arrival of Douglas Costa, according to reports.

The Brazilian was heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in January but Manchester United and Arsenal are also reported to be interested in the Shakhtar Donetsk star.

According to the Daily Mail, Financial Fair Play restrictions are preventing Chelsea from pulling off the move for Costa.

And with Stoke keen to keep Moses around a deal is reportedly close to being struck that will see the Nigerian international stay at the Britannia permanently.

Chelsea are said to be receiving regular updates on Costa's form and fitness and are planning a £20m move.

The Stamford Bridge outfit would reportedly prefer to land either Arsenal's Theo Walcott or Liverpool's Raheem Sterling but accept neither are likely to leave their current clubs.

Mark Hughes admitted in February that he hoped to keep Moses beyond the end of the season, saying: "Victor is still a Chelsea player, we're very pleased with what he’s producing."

"We have given him the opportunity and he's in a good place."

"We'd ideally love to be able to take him if we can but that won't be our decision. Things have to fall in place but if there was an opportunity to bring Victor next season we’d love to do it."

"It will be discussed at the end of the season, we will see how far it can go. But his profile is being raised so it is a two-edged sword."

"A loan could be a compromise. The key would be to try and find a way to keep him here next season."

"Would he get the opportunity his talents deserve back at Chelsea? We like to think we would be a consideration for him almost certainly."
