Udinese vs Juventus preview - Juve handed Vidal boost

Juventus have received good news ahead of Sunday's game at Udinese with Arturo Vidal's knee injury not serious.

The Chilean midfielder sustained a sprain on his right knee during his team's 1-0 triumph at Parma in Wednesday's quarter-final of the Coppa Italia.

Vidal underwent tests this week which ruled out any ligament damage although the player is expected to miss the trip to Udine.

Without Vidal, the Bianconeri hope to end a good week on a high note at the Friuli stadium.

Juve followed last weekend's 2-0 triumph over Chievo with victory at Parma in midweek.

Alvaro Morata's late goal placed Juventus one step closer to lifting the Coppa Italia for the first time since 1995.

"It wasn't an easy game at Parma," Morata told the Italian media. "But the important thing is that we won and we have progressed to the semi-finals of the competition.

"The only thing in our minds is to win.

"I believe that playing the way we did at Parma we can win many games.

"Our aim is to win all that we can this season.

"We are Juve and we cannot fail in any game.

"I really believe we can do that."

Juve are seven points clear of Roma at the top of Serie A and are also alive in the Champions League, where they will face Borussia Dortmund next month.

In the meantime, Massimiliano Allegri's men are fully focused on taking three points at Udinese.

"We need to give continuity to our results," Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner said. "We are doing well but the season is long and we cannot get carried away."

Udinese halted a five-match winless run with last weekend's 2-1 triumph at Empoli.

The victory, Udinese's seventh of the campaign, lifted the Friuli side to ninth place.

Andrea Stramaccioni's men have not won at home since October 26 and have mustered two points since at the Friuli stadium.

The hosts are without the services of Greek midfielder Panagiotis Kone, who is suspended.

Udinese captain Antonio Di Natale will lead his team's attack.
