The Blaugrana coach says the severity of the injury has yet to be determined, while also heaping Praise on the "unique" Lionel Messi
Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has revealed that forward Neymar sprained his ankle in Sunday's 5-0 La Liga rout of Levante.
The Brazil international, who opened the scoring in Valencia, was replaced by Sandro just six minutes into the second half and could now be facing a spell on the sidelines.
"He has a slightly sprained ankle that we have not yet assesses fully," Luis Enrique told reporters after the game. "I had planned to make the change anyway, but I hope it’s not too bad."
Luis Enrique was full of praise for Neymar's performance against Levante but he was more pleased with the overall display, with Ivan Rakitic, Sandro, Pedro and Lionel Messi all netting during a resounding win over their 10-man hosts.
"Neymar has plenty of quality with his feet and he attacks spaces, but I prefer to talk about the work of the whole team," the former Celta coach explained. "We can evaluate the qualities of each player but we appreciate the good work of everyone."
However, Luis Enrique did allow himself to be drawn on the Messi's contribution, with the Argentine creating goals for Neymar and Sandro before then completing the scoring with a sublime chip.
"Leo Messi is a unique and special player," he enthused. "His team-mates know that when he has the ball he can score or create an assist."
Barca's victory in Levante saw the Catalans make it four wins from four in La Liga this season.
