JOSE MOURINHO says the love story between Chelsea and Frank Lampard is over.
LAMPS LEAVES IT LATE: Frank Lampard netted a late equaliser to earn Manchester City a point against Chelsea
The former Blues midfielder came off the bench to score a late equaliser to earn new club Manchester City a share of the spoils at the Etihad Satdium this afternoon.
Lampard's 85th minute strike also brought Chelsea's 100 per cent start to the new season to an end, after Andre Schurrle had given them hope of extending that run to five wins out of five.
Mourinho conceded Lampard would forever be remembered by the Chelsea supporters.
However the Special One insists the 36-year-old's Stamford Bridge spell, to him, is well and truly in the past.
"Frank Lampard is a Man City player, I don't believe in stories of passion and heart, maybe I am too pragmatic in football," Mourinho told Sky Sports.
"When he decided to go to a direct competitor to Chelsea then love stories are over. He did his job as a professional.
"He got a good reception and this is England and this is Chelsea. Chelsea people never forget what Chelsea people do at the club.
"It happened to me when I was manager of Inter. It is Chelsea's culture and beauty."
